Jackson-Feild Behavioral Health Services is a Tricare certified adolescent Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility located in Jarratt, Virginia. We serve adolescents ages 11 to 17 in need of therapeutic treatment for mental illness and behavioral health issues. Using our evidence-based trauma-informed therapies, we work with adolescents and their families to achieve optimal therapeutic results. Each resident is involved upon admission in a systematic process of evaluation to determine diagnoses and to develop an effective treatment plan. Your child will have ongoing evaluations to continue with the best course of treatment throughout their stay at Jackson-Feild.
Each resident’s treatment team consists of a psychiatrist, nurses, therapist, case manager, cottage staff and teachers.

Family therapy with your adolescent is an integral part to each adolescent’s successful treatment at Jackson-Feild. We understand that military families may be located throughout the United States or other countries. We provide tele-health family therapy sessions when participating in person with your child is not an option.
Gwaltney School, licensed by the Virginia Department of Education, provides weekly educational instruction. Our levels of education are GED, Special Education, and Middle and High School curriculum. College courses are arranged for students seeking advanced education.
Jackson-Feild provides non-denominational spiritual care services for our residents who care to participate. We employ a full time chaplain who provides worship services, character building, mindfulness instruction, and various forms of creative expression.
Jackson-Feild is more than just a treatment center. We have many fun activities and events each week for your child to enjoy on our campus. While receiving treatment, we want your child to have fun and be a kid. We have 2 recreational facilities offering many group and individual games, they enjoy arts and crafts, exercise equipment, a water slide, swings and bike riding around campus.
Many holidays are celebrated on our campus and education is provided for residents not familiar with all holidays. We hold age appropriate special events throughout the course of treatment, and we have an annual graduation for students upon completion of their educational achievements.

At JFBHS, Hillary participated in psychoeducational groups—Positive Communication, Independent Living Skills and Anger Management, just to name a few. She completed her treatment and was successfully discharged in March 2020 to an independent living program in her home locality. She will receive community-based mental health and substance use treatment services
Our campus provided a safe and stable environment for Hillary to learn skills to assist with emotional regulation, anger management, substance use education, and relapse prevention skills.
Jeff arrived at JFBHS with diagnoses of major depressive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity, oppositional defiant disorder, and cannabis use disorder. He also was carrying a huge chip on his shoulder.
Thanks to a plan of care developed specifically for Jeff and his needs, Jeff began to show a different side of himself.
At JFBHS, Holly received the support she needed including GED preparation, medication management, individual therapy, family therapy, life skills training, and intensive family therapy.
