Jackson-Feild Behavioral Health Services, a trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment Facility located in Jarratt, Virginia, seeks positive role models to work directly with children and young adults ages 11 to 21. The Life Skills Coach is responsible for role-modeling healthy behavior and teaching life skills while implementing trauma-informed treatment practices. This is a full-time position.
Qualified applicants must possess the availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Flexibility is a must. A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or other Human Services field is preferred, a High School Diploma/GED is required.

JFBHS seeks Special Education Coordinator to complete IEPs, provide oversight of the special education program, and provide support and guidance to the Middle School program. The Special Education Coordinator ensures that the Special Education and middle school programs comply with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) regulations, the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities’ Accreditation standards. This position supports effective instructional planning, differentiation, and the implementation of evidence-based practices for diverse learners. The Special Education Coordinator ensures that all Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students are compliant with federal and state regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and VDOE guidelines. This position coordinates and participates in IEP meetings, collaborates with Local Education Agencies (LEAs), and ensures that required accommodations, goals, modifications, and services are implemented effectively to support student success.
Qualifications:
A Masters Degree in Special Education is highly preferred. Masters Degree in Guidance and other education specializations will be considered. Certification from the Virginia State Board of Education -Special Education Endorsement is required. Three years’ Special Education Administration experience preferred. Three years’ Special Education Teaching experience may be substituted for the administrative experience requirement. Previous experience writing IEPs required. A working knowledge of educational testing protocol and procedures is required. A working knowledge of VDOE, VDSS, and VDBHDS regulations required. Working knowledge of COA and VAISEF accreditation standards required. Knowledge of best practices related to educational testing, IEP development, the evaluation of educational testing results, and best practice SPED approaches including curricula development, instructional techniques and assessment.
Salary Range: $50,000 to $64,000 depending upon experience and credentials.

This positions requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field. Population served includes adolescent girls and boys with complex developmental trauma, co-occurring mental illness, and substance abuse issues. Position provides individual, group, and family therapy within a psychiatric residential setting. Virginia license, two years’ formal experience counseling adolescents, and residential experience are required.
