Jackson-Feild Behavioral Health Services is a Tricare certified adolescent Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility located in Jarratt, Virginia. We serve teens ages 11 to 17 in need of therapeutic treatment for mental illness and behavioral health issues. Using our evidence-based trauma-informed therapies, we work with adolescents and their families to achieve optimal therapeutic results. Each resident is involved upon admission in a systematic process of evaluation to determine diagnoses and to develop an effective treatment plan. Your child will have ongoing evaluations to continue with the best course of treatment throughout their stay at Jackson-Feild.

Each resident’s treatment team consists of a psychiatrist, nurses, therapist, case manager, cottage staff and teachers, and activity coordinators.

Jackson-Feild offers evidence-based trauma treatment to include:

Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Motivational Interviewing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Two evidence-based trauma therapies we utilize which are highly effective and unique to adolescent Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities in Virginia are:

• Neurotherapy

• Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving (STEPPS)

• Family Therapy

An integral part to each adolescent’s successful treatment at Jackson-Field is family therapy. 

We understand that military families may be located throughout the United States or abroad. We provide tele-health family therapy sessions when participating in person with your child is not an option.

• Gwaltney School

Licensed by the Virginia Department of Education, provides weekly educational instruction. Our levels of education are GED, Special Education, and Middle and High School curriculum. College courses are arranged for students seeking advanced education.
